2013 India trip (0) about travel guide

我本來是不plan旅遊的。來泰國，也是完全沒有在plan。我本來以為旅遊書都跟"XX愛地點"類似，有著彩色繽紛的編輯，但太過girly，所以我實在沒有想買。
第一趟旅程是Koh Samui。因為有泰國朋友一起，加上島嶼，實在好像也沒啥好做功課，所以也沒特殊感覺。

    I never plan my trip.For example, I never do any research for Thailand before I came. I used to think every travel guide is pretty much the same like some fashion magazines, with lots of graphics, but u can go with or without them.

    The first trip after my first day of Thailand was Koh Samui. Because the accompany of my Thai friends, I still felt nothing important for planing  a trip. But things start to become different during the trip to Northern Thailand on January end.

直到泰北之旅時，看著T和O人手一本寂寞星球討論(T拿著2009年中文版本的泰國，O則是在香港機場立馬買了一本最新英文版的。)，才發現旅遊書有多重要。
譬如T常常會告訴我們她在書上看到的資訊，居然詳細到連價錢都有，而O常在旅遊景點當場開始一段導遊。另外我也才更深深體會歷史和地理其實不必背，只要自己來一趟全都會清清楚楚，甚至自己想深入了解。

    During the whole trip, my friends---Tess(abbreviation to T) and Olivia(abbreviation to O) held a lonely planet travel guide each. T always told us the information she read from the book, and O always told us some historical fact of those views we went. The information is very detailed. We can even know the price range about everything to avoid some fraud. And by the way, this trip also make me realize that we don't need to force ourselves to memory all the details in the textbooks of history & geography classes, if we travel, we will be eager for them.







所以這次要去印度，我先去逛了書局，並且買了幾本旅遊書，順便翻一翻泰國的，也買了一本比較大綱的想找時間把我的想法和筆記補上去。(其實也是因為有點羨慕O那密密麻麻寫滿筆記的寂寞星球)
這次我還想帶我的拍立得去印度，拍一拍還可以直接貼上去，多有感覺啊！

So for this time, I dropped by the bookstores first, to buy some travel guide. I also browse some for Thailand even I already kind of finished it, because I want to write some in the book, after I saw O's noted lonely planet! Some how I started to envy her, haha!!

This time I will also plan to bring my Polaroid camera to India in order to take some nice pics and directly stick it into the travel guide.







上次誤打誤撞的買了這牌的旅遊書--phaidon wallpaper* city guide，因為另一間Kinokuniya(btw 這間書店跟本就是泰國的誠品)不能拆開，所以只是因為它小本又很有質感所以我就買了。一打開真的超有感覺版本很新，且都介紹一些高級的食衣住行。雅痞們應該會很愛吧我想。

I bought Wallpaper* city guide (Phaidon) accidentally. Beacuse I can't read it before I bought at the Kinokuniya bookstore, so I buy them just because they are small size and look sensational to me. After I read them(Delhi & Mumbai), it's really nice for design-conscious traveller as the book informs. It's all about luxurious but classic, I guess that hipsters will be big fans.





不過其實還是寂寞星球最具有參考價值啦！連火車班次、任何東西的大約價格都有，甚至也有寫到當地人會怎麼詐騙你(掩面)....
不過我有打算再買一本曼谷的Wallpaper* city guide (Phaidon)來收藏。

However, I still consider that Lonely Planet is more practical for general users. You can know almost everything inside the book---the timetable of the train, the price range of almost everything, even how the local people will try to scam you......

But I would like to buy another Wallpaper* city guide (Phaidon) of Bangkok for my own collection.
